Hi everyone, and welcome to my website! I am so excited to be getting back to blogging.
I had another small food blog a few years ago when I was first married. This was before I started triathlons (which ended my first blogging career) and before kids – I had quite a bit of spare time to dream up recipes!
How the times have changed! I have since moved state, moved house about 5 times, had 2 kids in 2 years, never quite got back to triathlons, or running, or my government job.
What I have picked up along the way, however, is resilience, speed and creativity in being able to get healthy meals on the table quickly that will hopefully satisfy the majority of family members. And the ability to appreciate the simple joys of life with small children!
My appreciation has grown of fresh local produce. Hobart, Tasmania where I live has a bit of a reputation as a foodie destination. Maybe it’s because things grow so well here – the stone fruit and berries are amazing – I couldn’t believe the abundance in harvesting my first backyard raspberry crop, or the hundreds of plums I had to throw out one year when my jam making couldn’t keep up with the tree!
I have fallen in love with my camera again, and being able to show just how delicious food can be (if you can’t be here to sit at my table and eat it).
